How to Turn Off Facebook Places

As it has been much rumored to do, Facebook has just introduced a new feature called Facebook Places. Based on my reading of their blog post, it works pretty much just like their competitors at Gowalla and Foursquare – when you go somewhere you can “check in” so people in your network will know where you are. Places goes the extra step into crazytown and lets people in your network check you in.

It seems ripe for abuse, doesn’t it?

If you’d like to turn off Places, all you need to do is follow this handy tutorial by Adam Dachis at Lifehacker. His video walkthrough is below.
